Indio HIlls Desert State Park is located in the Coachella Valley, just outside of Palm Springs and at the base of Joshua Tree National Park. It is home to the 1,000 Palms Oasis and the Coachella Valley Preserve.
A Palm Tree Oasis in the Desert!
The San Andreas Fault runs through the Coachella Valley Preserve. The fault captures underground natural spring water. This spring nurtures the native palm groves, creating an oasis of palm trees in the middle of the desert, hence the name 1000 Palms Oasis. In the picture above, taken during our last flight, you can see how the line of palm trees follows the San Andreas Fault.

The best way to participate in the ash scattering over this desert location depends on what experience the family wants, and how physically capable the participants are. One way is to witness the ash scattering from the ground. The family can gather at the Coachella Valley Preserve Visitors Center and watch cremated remains scattering over the desert.
Another way to participate would be to fly with us in our private ash scattering service.
